But I hesitate to call myself a writer or an author.
Using the ‘w’ or ‘a’ word seems to attribute a definitive meaning to what I do, whereas I myself have little clue on most days as to what I am doing here.
Imagining, conjuring, twisting and bending words out of shape, giving them new form, like a magician altering reality and creating new worlds, even if only momentarily.
The first post on Dream Pedlar was up nearly three years ago, but the stories, tagged “tricks from my hat”, themselves started to appear on the site only slightly more than a year ago, at first with alarming regularity but later trickling down to fit into tiny crevices of time.
But it is my magic place.
And so I want to revive the site by once again giving the stories a structure and a schedule.
Beginning August 1, every Friday morning between 7 AM and 7:30 AM EST, I will post an image and a short, little story of 10-15 sentences to go with it.
The stories will be tagged “Tales for Demesne” (pronounced di-mayn), demesne being the online moniker for my precious, KrA, without whom Dream Pedlar would have perished long, long ago.
Over the next few days, you will see some minor changes on the site such as shiny new tabs at the top, which are waiting to be filled with words and descriptions.
Occasionally, but much later, I will share some insights I gained while working on the project this time compared to the last time, what I leant from past experience, and what new plans I have this time around.
I am very excited about this project, and I had initially planned to post the first story day after tomorrow, but August 1 seems like an easier date to remember than July 25, especially when it comes to celebrating birthdays and milestones.
Thank you for reading!
